When was the last time you wrote a song with your doctor?
Returning to the show today is our good friend, Dr. Steven Eisenberg, a triple board-certified award-winning medical doctor and co-founder of California’s largest medical oncology practice.
Dr. Steven is the author of the brand new book Love Is The Strongest Medicine, and he’s host of The Dr. Steven Show boasting 50+ 5-star ratings on Apple Podcasts.
Known as The Singing Oncologist, you’ll find Dr. Steven belting it out like Adam Sandler in the oncology ward to help his patients heal.
I rarely get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes when I’m reading someone’s work and talking to them, but Dr. Steven gets me every time, so I’m sure you’re going to dig this one.
We’re chatting about:
- The healing effects of music and self-expression
- How to connect with patients by treating them like family
- Why everyone needs permission to laugh, even in the face of something like cancer
- An easy way to squeeze in that meditation break at the end of a long day
- And tons more…
Let’s go hang out with Dr. Steven.

Before You Go…
Here’s a note that came in from Nicki. She says…
Just wanted to take a moment to share that I really like this new app. It’s easy to use, simple but thorough in all the right ways, and I appreciate the little reminders every day. The 5 second dance party yesterday was fantastic!
I also thought I’d share that I’ve started meditating under my desk at work. I work in an elementary school library and there’s a little office with a big built in desk. I shut the door, turn out the lights, lay down under the desk to meditate.
Just in case anyone comes into the library for any reason and sees my feet under the desk, I put a little sign on the window that says “Not dead or in medical distress…meditating”.
The most awkward part is crawling out and hoping nobody is around to get freaked out. This is a long pointless story, but I think it’s great that my coworkers all know this is my new habit and we all get a great laugh at my weirdness. We make jokes about me being under my desk all the time. Sometimes they say they plan to join me to escape stress. My new healthy habit has brought some extra laughter to the workplace! Positive things all around!
– Nicki
Nicki, this note totally made my day, I absolutely love this whole little story here.
And it’s definitely not pointless. It proves a point, actually, that we need to be willing to be the weirdos if we want be healthy in this crazy, chaotic modern world.
So good on you for hiding under the desk and squeezing in some quality meditating time.
In the show with Dr. Steven we actually talk about that, as well. Being on your feet all the time, as an oncologist, you also don’t get afforded the perfect opportunities for meditation at all times.
So he has unique ways to squeeze it in, as well.
And of course, you’re welcome for the five-second dance party.
If you’re just out there wondering what the heck I’m talking about, or what Nicki’s talking about out here with the dance parties and all the fun with the new app, check out the Wild Challenge.
We just launched it this year, it’s our new app and we’re doing monthly themed challenges and giveaways, and we have a whole international community that we’re building around it.

So if you’re interested in leveling up your own health, please check out the Wild Challenge, you can go to wildsuperfoods.com/app.
We’ve already had people join from all across the world, including Canada, Italy, Norway, South Africa, the UK… And of course we have a lot of people participating in the States, as well, and are even talking about local meet-ups in some cases.
So if you’re into it, go and check out our new Wild Challenge over at wildsuperfoods.com/app. And don’t forget to use the code wild25 to get 25% off your next challenge.
And if you haven’t tried red light therapy yet, now is a great time to get results for less.
One of my favorite cutting edge bio-hacking technologies is red and near infrared light.
Light at specific wavelengths has been proven to spark a physiological healing response throughout the body.
Healing with high-powered light sounds a little wacky at first, but I started feeling relief from aches and pains almost immediately. In a world of hype, it’s refreshing to find tools that actually deliver.
And here’s some great news, my favorite portable infrared device, the FlexBeam, is finally ready for sale, and it’s changing the game.
I use the FlexBeam’s focused pulsing red and near infrared light to relieve my sore neck after long recording days, soothe stiffness in my hands and even once upon a time, the FlexBeam helped me recover from a nasty black widow bite.
Unlike large red light panels, the FlexBeam is portable, battery-powered and thankfully, far less expensive for early adopters.
You can even wear the FlexBeam while you’re working out.
So, if you’d like to heal your body and recover faster with the world’s first targeted infrared light device, for a limited time, you can get an extra 25% off and a free travel case when you click this special link.

In my experience, the FlexBeam is a gizmo that actually over-delivers on its promises, so I can’t wait to hear how you like it.
By the way, how would you like to boost your energy and focus?
