Before You Go
Here’s a quick update. YouTube recently announced that they plan to censor and shadowban any channels that stray from the mainstream narrative in health and beyond.
You don’t say?
Well, at least they’re admitting to it after all these years.
So what happened when Google put us on the naughty list way back in 2018?
The short answer is they essentially made our websites almost impossible to find through search, eliminating 95% of our visitors overnight, which measured in the millions for many years.
We still have a small trickle and we greatly appreciate people like you who listen to the show, read the blog and haven’t given up looking for us in the nooks and crannies of the interwebs.
At the same time with Canada’s announcement that it’s creating a registry of podcasters to ramp up censorship efforts even more, it seems independent thinkers and health nuts like us are on thin ice.
So what can we do about it?
Well, I’m not rolling over any time soon, and I’m certainly not going to echo mainstream talking points saying that you should give up red meat for the sake of your health or the environment because that argument has been debunked many times over.
When the mainstream talking heads demand that you eat fake lab-grown meat or bugs, don’t cave.
I’m going to keep doing my best to help others take their health and happiness into their own hands.
If that means I continue to get slammed by the algorithm or shut out from Instagram altogether, for example, too late on that one, that’s on our tech overlords.
As big tech platforms have become unfriendly to any conversations that fall outside the standard mainstream narrative, it’s more important than ever to leverage platforms that encourage free conversation.
As censorship runs rampant, it’s important that we also carefully curate our media diet, so to speak.
So how can you help keep independent thought and little creators like us alive?
Easy, just take a quick moment to look for us and subscribe to our channels.
All of these are free. So a recent development is now most or even all of our work is going to be available on Rumble. You can find me at Abel James.
You can also follow me on X, formally known as Twitter @fatburnman or Abel James, where I post some spicier stuff as well as music.
You can visit @fatburningman on YouTube and make sure to click subscribe and hit that bell notification. We just posted our 1000th video.
You can watch and subscribe to our brand new shorts on YouTube and some other channels as well.
You can subscribe on LinkedIn. Yes, we occasionally publish there too, I’m Abel James Bascom on LinkedIn.
You can also find me on Facebook @fatburningman or Abel James.
And of course, please make sure to subscribe to the Fat-Burning Man Show wherever you listen to podcasts, including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Android, Pandora, Amazon, YouTube, Rumble, TuneIn, Deezer or wherever you get your podcasts
Just takes a second, look for Fat-Burning Man or Abel James, and make sure you click that subscribe button.
Some of you have been unsubscribed from multiple platforms without asking to be unsubscribed, so make sure to go in there and double check.
I know it takes a minute, but it really does help other people find this free show, and it makes sure that we don’t disappear from your feed as well, or at least it’s supposed to.
And when you subscribe to Abel James or Fat-Burning Man on multiple channels, that makes sure that you can still find us even if we are deplatformed by one or the other. I’m looking at you, Instagram.
So when I sent an email about some of this to the newsletter, some of you folks chimed in.
Mark says:
Thank you so much for those links. Super helpful. I hate what big tech is doing to all the alt and natural fitness and health guys. It’s just terrible. I’ve been following your content for years and really love your work.
Sid says:
It seems like the big tech and gov tech doesn’t like human beings anymore. I hope we survive. All okay here, but it looks so dim, when we should have a fantastic future for what it’s worth!
Sid, I totally agree with you on that. There are many, many things to look forward to and many reasons to be optimistic as well.
I’m very much looking forward to the decentralization of the internet and Web 3.0.
Seems like I’m still tapping my foot. A lot of us are waiting for that to happen, but at some point, they can’t keep us all down forever.
So it seems like they’re really grasping for power because they know that their time is coming to an end and the paradigm is about to shift.
So thank you sincerely to all of you who have been following our work for a long time. I know many of you have been following us for more than 10+ years, which is incredible to think about.
And if you do have a quick second, don’t forget that you can share this show in whatever form you want on whatever platform you use with other people who might care about it and get great benefit from this show.

And by the way, do you like music made by real people instead of AI bots?
In the past few weeks, I just started posting full shows and songs, old and new to my YouTube music and Rumble channels.
So you can find those, including some original songs, cover songs, protest songs, I play some Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Cash, Tom Waits, and much, much more.
You can find all of that on YouTube music under the name @Abel James. As well as on Rumble.
