Mainstream media loves to smear red meat as unhealthy and disastrous for the environment.
But are cow farts really killing the planet or is that just a ploy to get you to buy fake meat products?
Would the fields behind my childhood home in New Hampshire, for example, really be better off without our happy backyard cows?
Would the ranches and wildlife reserves here in Colorado, replete with buffalo, elk, yak, pronghorn, cattle and mule deer, really be more environmentally-friendly if we simply got rid of all these dirty, burping, polluting animals?
The answer isn’t quite as simple as the media mavens, climate alarmists and billionaires would lead you to believe.
In an age of sprawling chemical-laden monocrops and fake meat, science is being confounded and abused.
Especially with supply chains catastrophically breaking down across the world, shouldn’t we be reducing external chemical inputs and focus instead on becoming more self-reliant?
When we treat nature with respect, both animals and plants can heal the soil and the land as part of a thriving symbiotic ecosystem.
And to help separate truth from propaganda, today we’re back with our friend, the one and only Robb Wolf.
Robb is a former research biochemist, powerlifting champion, New York Times best-selling author of several titles, including “The Paleo Solution,” “Wired To Eat,” and his newest book co-authored with Diana Rogers is called “Sacred Cow.”
Robb has functioned as a review editor for the Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism, as a consultant for the Naval Special Warfare Resiliency Program, and serves on the board of directors for a number of innovative start ups with a focus on health and sustainability.
You’re going to dig this show, we’re chatting about:
- Why the sacred cow is a gift from Mother Nature
- The nutritional quality of pasture-raised meat vs fake meat
- The importance of soil biodiversity
- Why we should reduce synthetic chemical-based farming and get back in touch with natural cycles
- How food manufacturers are capitalizing on our good intentions to peddle their ultra processed artificial products
- The importance of protein as a macronutrient
- And tons more…
Where To Find Robb Wolf
This book is so sorely needed right now. It’s called Sacred Cow, everyone can check it out at SacredCow.info.
There’s also a film, for anyone who is not ready to jump into the book. Or if you know somebody that wouldn’t read the book but might be amenable to the film, you can grab the DVD over at SacredCow.info.
5% of all film sales will go directly to a special scholarship fund for low income and BIPOC farmers to attend the Savory Institute training in Holistic Management.
So, check out the book and DVD at SacredCow.info, or grab a copy of the book from Amazon, Book Depository (worldwide delivery), Barnes & Noble, Powells.com, Books A Million, Walmart, Bigger Books, Bookshop, eCampus, Indiebound, Booktopia (Australia), or your local bookstore.
And then Robb also does a lot of writing over at the LMNT blog, and that’s at DrinkLMNT.com. LMNT is a tasty electrolyte drink mix perfectly suited to folks following a keto, low-carb, or paleo diet (Mango Chili is a favorite in our house).
