It was really nice to hear Alisa talk about the infradian rhythm in this interview. She says…
“The infradian rhythm, for women, yes we experience it over the course of our menstrual cycle but it would be just as simplistic to say that that clock only governs our menstruation because it turns out that it impacts our brain chemistry, our metabolism, our immune response system, our stress response system, our microbiome, and our reproductive system, which includes our period, our fertility, and our sex drive.”
“So this infradian rhythm is something that we all need to learn about because it’s really running the show, and we have to acknowledge that everything we’ve been doing has been totally disrupting this infradian rhythm and causing all those six key systems of the female body to perform sub-optimally, which is why you are struggling with all of these different symptoms, ranging from your attention span, to your mood, to your weight, to your periods, to your fertility, to your sex drive. It’s all connected by the degree to which you are disrupting this infradian rhythm.”
