I listened to Yuri and I don’t know, is it just me, but he still sounds like a vegan. A liter of green juice in the morning. He says he doesn’t really like to eat meat that much. He is about to have quiche for lunch? Huh? I’m confused. I don’t know which program he is on, but he doesn’t sound too sold on this one.
Abel James says
Hi Rick,
Yuri has been a vegan/vegetarian in the past, but does incorporate meat into his diet. Lots of veggies, a bit of meat, all real food. Sounds good to me!

I just finished listening to this episode of your podcast. It was fantastic. I didn’t want it to end.

Thanks Lesa! Many more to come…

What a contrast to have Matt Lalonde and Yuri Elkaim back to back interviews. As a past Vegan who experienced many of the downsides of that lifestyle choice – I believe Yuri still has Vegan sensibilities and “speaks out of both sides of his mouth.” I believe Matt addresses the acid/alkaline balance issue quite effectively. And…looking at the split screen of you, Abel, and Yuri – you are the picture of health. I do not mean this as an ad hominem attack on Yuri but when you are promoting a way of eating you are putting yourself out there as an example. He may be thin, but he does not look healthy. Young people can usually absorb a lot of abuse to their systems and it may take years before it shows. This thing called “nutrition” is a pretty tricky subject. 😉 However…Junk food is junk food stop fooling yourself about the healthy cookies. Just saying.
Abel James says
Hi Celeste, thank you for the comments. I appreciate your perspective – you’re right, our bodies can take quite a bit of abuse while we’re young but only for so long. It’s tricky to get everything dialed in, but we’re all in this together! I’ll continue to point you to examples of other folks we can learn from. Cheers!
