What’s it like to eat nothing but meat for years on end?
Well, contrary to what you may hear on mainstream corporate media, animal protein can be one of the most powerful tools to help you reach and maintain a healthy body composition.
But can a full-blown carnivore diet effectively fuel world class feats of athletic performance?
I’m honored to say that joining us on the show today is Dr. Shawn Baker M.D., a World Champion Athlete, former Orthopedic and Trauma Surgeon, podcast host, international speaker and best-selling author of The Carnivore Diet.
If you’re curious about the effects of eating a meat-only diet, how to fuel with animal protein as an athlete or what to do about cravings, this is the show for you.
We’re chatting about:
- Surprising results from giving up carbage and going full-blown carnivore
- How to fuel with animal protein
- Problems with a processed plant-based diet
- How a Jujitsu class can help put things into perspective
- What to do about cravings
- Adjusting a meat-based diet for athletes
- How physical strength helps you stay mentally strong
- And tons more…
Where To Find Dr. Shawn Baker
To learn more, be sure to head over to Revero.com.
Dr. Shawn Baker: Thanks for bringing up Revero. Revero is the company that myself and my partner co-founded. It’s based on basically reversing disease.
We’re a medical startup company. We’ve raised $5 million here recently, so we’re going to be hiring physicians, and their focus is going to be not treating symptoms, but getting you off medications and reversing your disease and making you actually healthy people, which is where I think that our focus in healthcare should be.
And it’s not, because we have a very much pharmaceutical-dependent system. And so we’re going to be pushing away from that.
'I would argue all day long that meat based nutrition is incredibly high quality.' -Dr. Shawn Baker @SBakerMD Share on XSo I’m there every day. I do a meeting, in fact, that’s where I’m going from here. I’m going to do a meeting with our community and I’ll be interviewing another physician that’s from the Congo, in Africa. Interestingly, who’s using low carb diets for his patients there.
But, so I’m there every single day of the week, seven days a week, at Revero.com.
Dr. Shawn Baker is also the bestselling author of The Carnivore Diet. If you’re interested in a nutritional strategy that takes contemporary dietary theory and dumps it on its head, breaks just about all the “rules” and delivers outstanding results, then be sure to pick up this book.
You can also follow Dr. Baker and be friends on social media, including on Instagram @shawnbaker1967, on Twitter @SBakerMD as well as on TikTok @shawnbakermd.

Before You Go…
It’s been about 10 years, believe it or not, of doing this podcast and having the blog, audio shows, video shows, interviews on other shows and all sorts of things.
And my wife, Alyson, and I are finally ready for a little vacation, a little bit of break. So we’ll be taking a few months off this summer, but never fear, we will be back.
In fact, we’ve already recorded new episodes of this podcast and show that will be coming out in the new season in just a few months.
You can look forward to hearing more about EMF pollution and how to mitigate that in your own life, as well as ketogenic dieting and the specifics of that for long term purposes and much, much more.
So be sure to Subscribe to this show and stay tuned for more episodes coming your way toward the end of the summer.
In the meantime, we’ll be living out of the RV and traveling around, hopefully even seeing some of you in person.
We’ll also be creating a heck of a lot more music videos, as well as virtual reality tours.
If you’re interested in any of that, then please check out AbelJames.com.
And here’s a quick announcement. You may have heard that we just released our brand new blue blocking glasses over at WildRx.com.
These WildRx blue blockers come in daytime and nighttime varieties, and for most people, the yellow daytime lenses are going to be exactly what you need for mitigating the harmful effects of a lot of the artificial blue light during the working hours of the day, and even the beginning of the evening.
I tend to use them around sundown.
We’re also really excited that we just added prescription lense options over at WildRx.com.
Right now since we’re launching, we’re only in the United States, hopefully we’ll be expanding down the road.
But since you’re a loyal listener of the show, you’ll be one of the first people to get in there and try WildRx blue blocking glasses.
And as a special thanks, you can save 10% off your entire order. All you have to do is go to WildRx.com and use the promo code YOUROCK
Thanks so much for checking that out.

Abel puts on Dr. Baker’s podcast/YouTube channel at home sometimes while I’m in the kitchen, and I’ve really enjoyed listening to him. He has such sound advice, seems very level headed, and I’m not surprised that he served as a Nuclear Weapons Launch Officer in the US Air Force.
Here are some quotes from Dr. Baker in this interview — he says:
“Nutrition makes a significant role on how calm you are.” -Dr. Shawn Baker
“I’ve had a lot of world class athletes that I’ve worked with that have done very well with meat-based diets.” -Dr. Shawn Baker
“If you’re trying to lose weight, drinking calories is just kind of a bad idea.” -Dr. Shawn Baker
“There’s about 50,000 different nutrients in meat, 50,000 different compounds. It’s not just amino acids and a few vitamins.” -Dr. Shawn Baker
“When I sit down to a nice big juicy ribeye steak, that’s got this nicely crispy seared fat and some salt on there, I’m salivating, I’m loving every minute of that. It’s not like I’m depriving myself and saying it’s miserable.” -Dr. Shawn Baker
