How often do you exercise?
Does it surprise you to learn that 3 out of 4 of us humans don’t exercise at all, at least not on a regular basis?
I’m sure draconian government interventions that outlawed group exercise, shuttered gyms and small businesses and all of that, certainly didn’t help matters or our trajectory overall.
But the way I see it, you have to find ways of making working out fun. And you also have to do your best to not get sidelined by injury, overtraining or burnout.
So joining us on the show today is the perfect guest to help you work exercise into your busy life. Adam Sedlack is a fitness industry veteran with more than 3 decades of leadership expertise, and the president and cofounder of UFC Gym.
In this show, we’re chatting about:
- Why 75% of people aren’t exercising regularly and what to do about it
- Recovery tools that hook people on fitness
- How UFC Gyms are different from Fight Club
- The importance of defining your why and finding your personal fight
- And tons more…
Let’s go hang out with Adam.

Before You Go
You may have noticed that there’s a change of digs, or maybe I sound a little bit different. Perhaps you’ve even heard some of the birds in the background—we’ve got some northern flickers, jays, chickadees and magpies here, to name a few.
We’re camping by the lake. We’re on the road again, living out of the fifth wheel for the first time in many years. But I’ve actually recorded this show out of this rig before.
It’s a little bit more challenging on the road. This whole setup is kind of a disaster at the moment, except for what’s in frame right now.
So those of you who are on audio won’t really notice much of a difference, but forgive us in advance if there are some extra noises in the background, whether it be nature or manmade.
But this is a great place to be, we’re happy to keep this show coming to you.
And I wanted to share a quick note that came in from Maureen. It was a really sweet one. She says:
“I was missing you on your podcast. Just tuned into the last one and see you and Alyson are on vacation on the road.
You have inspired me in so many ways. My husband and I are in our 60s. We sold our house and bought a 38 acre pecan orchard in North Texas. If you guys are on the road and want a place to park for the night or two give a shout. Would love to host you. Nothing for you to do just a place to hang out overnight.
Enjoy your travels. Glad you’re coming back. You really have changed my life. I’ve always been health-conscious but your podcasts have been incredibly enriching and fortified my commitment to clean eating as a lifestyle. .
Give a shout if you’re in the area. I would love to share where we are headed with this farm in our fourth quarter of our life. We want it to be a teaching place (foraging, cooking, gardening) and a place of great healing.”
Kindest regards,
Maureen”
Maureen, thank you so much for writing in and the sweet offer to host us in Texas.
Yes, in fact, we are coming back to Texas. We’ve spent the last five years or so living in Colorado, up at elevation in all sorts of different parts of the mountains, but now we are at least in the next few months on our way back to Texas.
So all of you friends there who we’ve missed so much over the years, we’re looking forward to seeing you again.
We’ll be back hanging out again, I’ll be playing music and much, much more.
But, Maureen, I look forward to meeting you in person, and congratulations on getting yourself a pecan orchard. I can’t imagine anything much more peaceful than that.
And also, like you said, it’s a great opportunity to invite others over and help them learn how to get some dirt underneath their fingernails.
Now to give you folks a quick update. At the beginning of the summer, Alyson and I put all of our stuff into storage and moved into the little tow behind trailer with our dog.
We’ve been to a lot of incredible places, including Flaming Gorge, Lava Hot Springs, the Yellowstone Volcano where we lived for a couple weeks, Craters of the Moon, Bear Lake with the infamous Bear Lake Monster, Dinosaur Land, Grand Mesa, and much, much more.
I say all of this because we have been recording a ton for you.
But because we haven’t had a solid internet connection, we haven’t been able to upload much of anything. So stay tuned for more virtual reality experiences coming your way soon.
Believe it or not, we filmed over 1000 VR experiences in 360, 180, 3D, all sorts of different formats. Now, I’m getting really into VR spatial audio as well. So I’ll figure out a way to get some of that to you.
If anyone wants to collaborate and you’re into nature tours of national and state parks, if you’re into VR technology, just hit me up.
And if you just want to get some free goodies and some free recipes, all sorts of other stuff, be sure you’re signed up for the newsletter here on FatBurningMan.com, and we’ll take care of you.
And if you’d like to support us and keep this show coming to you, please check out the store here on FatBurningMan.com for books, cookbooks, coaching, music and fitness as well.
And then you can go to WildSuperfoods.com to grab our all time favorite go-to supplements. Alyson, my wife and I started this company years ago, and we’ve passed quite a few milestones, but I’ll just tell you quickly our favorites on a daily basis are Future Greens, Vitamin D Stack, Fizzy C, and Collagen Cocoa.
Very quickly, Future Greens is one of our absolute favorites and one of our bestsellers over the years.
It’s a nutrient-dense powerhouse of all sorts of different fruits and veggies that are concentrated and dried, so they’re shelf stable. And you can mix them easily in water or your smoothies, some people even mix them in yogurt.
And then Collagen Cocoa is kind of the protein version of that, where you get 21 grams of protein per scoop and it’s a bone broth concentrate. So you’re getting nose to tail real food nutrients, and it tastes like a delicious chocolate cocoa.
You can even mix the Collagen Cocoa by the scoop into Greek yogurt, or we make it into brownies and puddings and all sorts of things like that.
So if you’d like to have some fun and get your nutrition on as well, please visit us over at WildSuperfoods.com, and enter the code WILD15 to save 15% off your first order.
And don’t forget about our Subscribe & Save option and bundles to get even more discounts. Check it all out at WildSuperfoods.com. Right now, we’re only in the States, only in America, hopefully we’ll be expanding down the road.
By the way, this episode of Fat-Burning Man is brought to you by our family company, Wild Superfoods over at WildSuperfoods.com, and our friends at LMNT.
Are you frustrated with the lack of healthy sports drink options out there?
When it comes to electrolytes, the popular drinks on the market actually have low amounts of electrolytes and miss the mark on the optimal ratio that your body needs.
LMNT is a surprisingly tasty electrolyte drink mix without any sugar, fillers or suspect ingredients. And it’s actually packed with more electrolytes than standard sports drinks in the ideal ratio your body needs.
It comes in individual grab and go packets that mix easily in water, so you can get a pick-me-up wherever you are.
And for just a little while longer, LMNT is giving away free sample packs to Fat-Burning Man listeners, so you can try the different flavors for yourself.
So to claim your free LMNT sample pack, just go to drinklmnt.com/wild
You’ll only need to pay a small amount for shipping, otherwise the sampler pack is 100% free for you.
And thank you so much for your support. Honestly, you’ve heard all these creators say this, but we could not do this without you.
We appreciate everyone who sends us a note, everyone who reads our free blog or listens to this podcast, whether you ever purchase from us or not, we really appreciate you being here, so thank you for that.

Alyson Rose says
Wow, it’s pretty crazy to think that ~75% of people don’t exercise. I like UFC Gym’s approach to hooking people on fitness by making the recovery process so enjoyable. Seems like a super fun and challenging workout environment.
