Can you change your life in just 30 days?
When I first overhauled my nutrition plan with a primitive version of The Wild Diet, I dropped 20 pounds in just over a month. More importantly, I no longer needed prescription medications to have terrific biomarkers of health.
Now – I’m very happy to say – you readers and listeners are making me look like a slacker.
Read a few of the stories below, and you’ll see that just a month of eating Wild could change everything.
If you watched The Wild Diet on ABC, you saw Kurt lose an incredible 87 pounds and 22% percentage points of body fat in just 14 weeks. His wife, Alecia, lost 32 pounds in 7 weeks.
So what is possible in 30 days? Read on below.

Ambriel: Down 6 Dress Sizes and 17 Pounds in 30 Days
Hi Tribe!
I wanted to share my progress after 1 month on The Wild Diet. I am a 43 year old Stay at home Mom. My before picture was taken on 1/24/16 at an early birthday party for my daughter. My after photo was taken 2/25/16.
I had ordered Abel’s book In early January after watching Kurt Morgan on My Diet Is Better Than Yours. I had every intention of starting on 2/1 but after seeing myself in the birthday photos I knew I couldn’t wait another week. I was horrified at how unhealthy I looked. My skin was inflamed, I was bloated, and my body physically hurt. At this point food was killing me. I started Monday Morning 1/25/16.
I followed the book and recipes and hoped for a miracle. Well I got several!
Over the next 4 weeks I lost 17 lbs and several inches going from a tight size 18/20 to a 14! I saw my IBS symptoms completely disappear as well as a constant upper abdominal pain that had plagued me for nearly 3 years.
Also my GERD symptoms disappeared and I was able to stop taking a prescription medication! Skin redness and rashes that had bothered me for years disappeared. I was glowing!
I do the Wild 7 workout 2-3 times and take my 2 year old on walks around the block. My energy levels are through the roof and I can run, dance, and play with daughter again instead of feeling too tied to move. I crave Fatty Coffee every morning and love feeding my family the recipes in the book!
As I said at the beginning of my story food was killing me before I started The Wild Diet, now it nourishes and fuels me. It’s hard for me to think of this as a diet because traditional diets have a beginning and an end. For me this is a lifestyle now! I’m so thankful to Kurt and Able and Alyson for helping me Go Wild!!! You’ve all helped change my life!

David Drops 26 Pounds (Nearly 1 Pound a Day!)
Hi Abel/Alyson
First of all. I feel amazing. I needed to get that out there!
As a background, I used to be 335lbs, and had high cholesterol, sugar, and you name it. I had been experiencing gout in both of my ankles, which at 29 years old is almost unheard of. My doctor told me I couldn’t take gout meds because of how high my other tests were showing, and I really had to just deal with it without medication.
I started the Wild Diet after stalling out on other diets, namely the “My Fiancé made sure I didn’t just eat pizza” diet. She helped me get down from 335 to 305, but when I stalled there for about a year, I needed to change something. The gout was still happening, and I would have either a flare-up or just overall inflammation, making it difficult to get the exercise I needed. Jogging was out. Walking was only fine until I felt my ankles starting to twinge, and then I had to ice them and hope it didn’t swell up too badly.
I saw your diet showcased on ABC’s My Diet is Better than Yours, and after all of the success Kurt had, I knew it would work for me.
Starting at 305 lbs, I lost 26 lbs and ended up at 279lbs. My pants size went from a 44 to a 40, and is juuuust about to be a 38 (I can sneak into them, but they are snug!) and my belt is now on the smallest loop. I can fit my old suit that I haven’t worn since 2008, and my neck size dropped from about 19 ½ (very hard to find unless you shop at DXL) to 18 ½. My average at-rest heartrate has dropped from high-80s to mid/high 70’s.
As I said above, I feel amazing! I have so much more energy than I have had in easily 10 years. The gout is gone (knock on wood!) and I can walk and jog like I used to. The inflammation is gone, and it is a great feeling overall. I find myself more able to WANT to do things and less likely to want to take a nap. Yes even my libido has been more active by FAR.
I often say that my fiancé saved my life, but you and The Wild Diet helped her out and made her job easier!

Janet “Dabbles” in The Wild Diet and Sheds 17 Pounds
Hi Abel and Alyson,
I started “dabbling” in the Wild Diet around January 7th. I lost seven pounds from that date until the challenge started. I am now down 17 pounds total and am ecstatic about the beauty of this new lifestyle.
My blood pressure medicine has been cut by half, my Mobic for body pain has been halved as well. My doctor foresees that I will be off of these meds in no time and she was beyond thrilled with my progress at my visit last week. She wanting to hear all about the Wild Diet, said it was “perfect” and is going to spread the word to her patients!
My clothes are beginning to hang on me and I need to go shopping! Yay! I have renewed energy and amazingly, I am beginning to crave the veggies!
This will be my lifestyle forever and I thank you both from the bottom of my heart! May you be blessed beyond your “WILDEST” dreams in the days ahead! Thank you for saying “yes” to the calling of bringing divine health and happiness to the hopeless! YAY!
Cheers to you both,
Janet
Joshua Beats Sugar Addiction and Loses 20 Pounds in 30 Days
20 lbs down in 30 days! I’m feeling really great. I am a recovering sugar addict, and I’ve fallen off the paleo wagon so many times over the past few years. The Wild Diet has been different. The meal plans, the tribe support, the guilt-free desserts, and especially the green smoothies (where have these been all my life??) have made the Wild Diet stick, where basic paleo didn’t.
I’m a long time listener to the podcast, but getting the book and meal plans made a huge difference. I can’t recommend it strongly enough.

Danica Sheds 14 Inches and 23 Pounds
Finding this lifestyle has changed my life…in just one short month. I have lost 23 pounds and over 14 inches. My work relationships are better. I have so much energy, I tried racquetball and zumba for the first time. I started wearing makeup and making cute hairdos, that isn’t something I have done in years. Thanks Abel and Alyson!!!!!!

Wes Says: “WOW! What a Difference 30 Days Makes!”
WOW!! What a difference 30 days makes!
My journey to health and wellness started on January 1st with great success by “simply” cutting out sugar, carbs and dairy during the month of January.
During that month I lost over 24lbs and was able to wear shoes for the first time in over 2 years. However my sustainable journey began February 1st when I truly committed to the Wild diet 30 day challenge. I’m still a
big boy and affectionately call my stomach my “little, big belly” as I acknowledge it shrinking away.
THE NUMBERS:
I started the month weighing 321.4lbs with a 54″ chest, 56″ waist, 51″ hips, 18″ left bicep, 19″ right bicep, 30″ left thigh and 29″ right thigh.
After weigh in and measurements this morning… I weigh 304.0lbs with a 50″ chest, 50″ waist, 47″ hips, 16.5″ left bicep, 16″ right bicep, 27″ left thigh and 27″ right thigh!
That’s a total of 17.4lbs lost this month that’s 10% of my bodyweight since January 1st!! A whopping 23.5 inches lost over the past 30 days!!!! 6″ alone in my waist, no wonder my pants are falling off of me. lol I’m super excited about the next 30 days… 30 years even!
I have been fighting for disability assistance for the past year and as of last week decided that after another couple of months I will be able to take care of myself again. That alone brings tears of joy!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your guidance and support! I look forward to meeting you both someday and giving you a huge hug of gratitude and love.
POST NOTE: I swear I’m not pushing out or sucking in my belly, and find it hysterical that I always made fun of before and after photos being grumpy and sullen in the “before” pictures and happy and energetic looking the the “after”. haha, I AM happier and have reason to smile now, go figure. I wish I had taken pictures and measurements on January 1st, can’t imagine the change since then if in only 30 days the results are so noticeable. I can’t sing your praises enough.

Jen Says “Energy is Through the Roof!”
Just want to say Abel and Alyson, that both me and my partner have completely flipped our lifestyle and in no way look at this as a fad or quick fix!
Some of the incredible benefits I have personally received…
- Clarity 🙂
- Energy is through the roof!!
- Saving less on groceries because when I eat right and get proper nutrition I crave less, fuel my body effecienently and less frequently. Yeah sure, buying clean and properly sourced and raised foods is more expensive but hey, I look at it as preventative medicine!! Thank you for making this the most important aspect in my opinion!!
- Naturally getting tired at the same time each night and waking to the sunset!! This is sooooo cool to me! My cecadian rythms are right on point! Guess that’s what happens when you don’t spend the evening drinking wine and beer until almost midnight!!
- Exercising less but with a focused intensity …. And get LEAN!!
- Ran sprints for the first time in 20 years!!! Woot!
- Skin looks great!
- Hair looks amazing!!
- So much energy!!
- Down 6 pounds and my clothes are getting looser!
Ya know, life is about being joyful and thriving not fretting about not being healthy. This past year I hit a personal milestone with loving myself unconditionally and that is what brought me in direct contact with this amazing tribe!
When I love myself I make my health a priority!
From my family to yours,
Thank You!! ?

Shannon is Down 19 Pounds and Loving The Wild Diet
Alyson and Abel, Thank you for changing my life!!!! I feel so much better and have more energy. I feel like a more pleasant person, I have more confidence and I’m handling stressful situations much better. 30 days in and I can’t wait to see how far I get by 100 days.

Casey says..
So in the first 30 days of eating wild I went from 213 to 192… You are a genius!! So glad I decided to listen to your podcast.
Terilynn says…
I am glad to say that i am down 17lbs in six weeks. I plateau for about 3 1/2 weeks and that was absolutely frustrating. I stopped my t25 workout, i run every other day. I lost 5lbs in 5days!!! Thank you WILD LIFE!!!
Heather says…
I have struggled with depression anxiety for years and after almost three weeks on the wild diet I am happy to report that for the first time in years I finally feel balanced and healthy! My daughter (7) has struggled with adhd for years and after trying and failing with six different medications over the past two years she is off all meds, happier, healthier and more focused since going wild with me. This diet has truly changed our lives! Thank you Abel James Bascom!!!!!!
Sara says…
So I have this superstition about the scale – I don’t trust weight loss until it’s been gone at least 3 days. As of this AM I am very excited that I am officially 138!!! It’s the first time I’ve seen the 130s since a stressful move to Chicago 2 years ago. It also means I am within 15 lbs of my goal weight. It also means that since going wild on 2/1 I’ve lost 10.6 lbs and 2.5 inches on my waist.
I’m over the moon about these results and just wanted to say thank you to Abel James Bascom and Alyson Rose and the whole, amazingly supportive tribe.
Rogelio says…
Ever since I joined this group, my life changed for the better. Meeting all of you fantastic individuals helps me by motivating me to do better every day. In 34 days I lost 27 pounds and people keep giving me compliments on how nice i look now. I started at 292.8 lbs and I’m now at 265.6 lbs. I’m not going to stop until I reach my all time lowest. Then I can finally start my 2nd chance in life.
I can’t thank all of the Tribe members and 30-Day Challenge participants enough. You guys are such an thriving, supportive community. Positive changes are so much easier when you don’t have to do it alone.

Hi. I want to purchase the book The Wild Diet, however when I look online I see two books with the same title. One has an orange coloured cover with a picture of Abel on the front and says it was published April 2015 and the other has a picture of a fry pan full of vegetables and says it was published January 2016. Why are there two with the same title. Which one should I buy. Is the later one a reprint of the first with more or updated info??
Alyson says
Hi Mary, good question. They’re the same book — one is the hardcover and one is the paperback.

Karen Keyes says
Hi Abel and Alyson,
I think you have saved my life! I started the Wild Diet in January and by Feb 21st (30 days), I had lost 20 lbs! My pants are super loose, and the pants I fit back into are now loose. During that time I had some obsticles. I fell, causing a blood clot in my leg. My Dr put my on warfarin, which meant watching my vitamin K intake. I’m now off that med, clot free, and back to eating as much spinich and Kale as I want! I feel so much better, have energy, no gastric problems, no stomach bloat, and no more heartburn. I have far less joint pain. I’m still on the weight loss journey and still loosing, so I’ll keep you posted and get a before/after picture at the end of my journey. I have a ways to go yet, but confident that I can do it finally with this diet. I’ve been a sugar addict for far too long.
Thank you,
Karen
p.s. my daughter and son in law are also on this diet. We started after watching the show and being inspired by Kurt. They have also lost 20 lbs.!!!
Alyson says
Hi Karen, this is so fantastic to hear! And it’s great your family is trying it and getting results, too. Wow, 20 pounds!
I can’t wait to see your before and after pictures! You can shoot them over to us at CustomerCare@FatBurningMan.com.
James Fellrath says
All of these great testimonials are the proof that anyone needs that they can really change their lives for the better, just by taking a personal interest in their health and improvement. Kurt was just the most visible due to his story being on TV – all these people are heroes and should trumpet their success to the world! Keep up the great work, everyone, and thanks to Abel for all he and Alyson do for us!
Abel James says
Thanks so much for the support, James. You’re right – all of these folks are heroes and inspirations. 🙂
Philip says
Dude, time to come clean and admit that the numbers on some of these stories are bunk.
“Following The Wild Diet, Kurt shed 87 pounds, trimmed 10 inches from his waist, and went from 52% down to 30% body fat in just 14 weeks. Kurt lost nearly double the amount of body fat as any other contestant on the show. This is a HUGE win for the Wild, high fat / low carb, and Paleo communities!”
So he lost 104 lbs of fat and gained 17 lbs of lean mass… in 4 weeks. Come on man.
Abel James says
Hi Philip, thanks for your comments. It was 14 weeks, not 4. Don’t forget that Kurt is 6’5″ and he had a great deal of accountability built into the TV show and competition.
Ann Smith says
I joined the “digital” program a month ago or so and wondered if It includes the 30 day wild meal plan or is that a separate program? Thanks!
Abel James says
Yes, you should have 30 days of meal plans in the download area. If you want to get new meal plans every month, check out The Fat-Burning Tribe here: http://FatBurningTribe.com
If you need any help let us know!
Amy Treneff says
I have tons of energy on the wild diet and don’t get “hangry” like I used to. I love the concept and love feeling good! I still have not lost any weight, but I think that is due to Hashimotos. I am diagnosed and being treated with Synthroid, but still cannot lose the 20 lbs I gained before being diagnosed. 🙁
Hux says
Amy,
Do not give up! I am on Synthroid meds also. I have lost 15 lbs. since January 1st and walked over 350 miles. It is slower for us hypo thyroid types. I really have to avoid dairy, peanut butter, and any leavened bread. You learn what your body does not like and does not respond well to. I also try and eat as much fresh uncooked vegetables and fruits as possible to build up the gut microbes.
doris says
Came back from a trip visiting my Dad who is so sick and barely functional at 69 years old. My husband and I decided we needed to make a lifestyle change not “diet”. I signed up for the 30 day challenge on line. We are in week 4 right now and I have lost 12lbs and he is down 16lbs. I’ve been dealing with terrible menopause symptoms and have not been able to drop weight no matter what I tried including crossfit. We are thrilled with the results so far and the food is fantastic! We are cooks and foodies so good tasting food, not just grilled chicken and broccoli, was super important. My husband has commented all along just how delicious the food is. I just downloaded the Wild Diet book so we could read more and get more delicious recipes. We are so grateful for your fabulous program and the amazing change we are seeing in our health! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts for helping move from flab to fab!
Darrin Hull says
I discovered the Wild Diet while watching My Diet Is Better Than Yours and was greatly impressed with Abel’s philosophy and the diet’s concepts. Since then I have purchased a softcover copy of the book, the Wild Diet 30-Day Challence information and the shopping guides, plus I’ve been listening to the podcast, so I’m ready to go all-in.
I do have one question, though. I see the fatty coffee come up frequently in the meal plans, etc. and while the rest of the word seems to live on coffee, I certainly am not one of them. I think I’ve only drank it once and that was by accident. I say drank but really it’s more accurate to say that I tasted it and then spewed it like Old Faithful across the room.
Does fatty coffee play an important role in the Wild Diet or is there an option for a non-coffee drinker like me?
Alyson says
Good question, Darrin. Fatty coffee is completely optional.
If you are skipping breakfast and dabbling in intermittent fasting, then having a bit of high-quality fat in the morning can help hold you over till lunch while supplying your brain with fuel to keep you feeling good and focused.
For a lot of people who are already having coffee in the morning, adding that fat to their morning coffee works well. But putting fat in tea (fatty tea!) or just taking a small spoonful in the mouth works well, too.
Intermittent fasting is simply the concept that your body thrives by following a cyclical approach to eating and digestion, but it doesn’t work for everyone. If you prefer to eat in the morning, enjoy something like a green smoothie, giant salad, or eggs with sautéed veggies on the days that have fatty coffee for breakfast in the meal plan.
Lilly Young says
I have been on the Wild diet since February and I had lost 16 pounds by mid March. But all of a sudden I had absolutely no appetite and no desire to eat meats or vegetables, although I did not have the desire to eat starchy carbs at all. My body just out of the blue started craving fruit. I would have my fatty coffee in the morning and I would do well until around 12:30 or 1:00 and all I wanted was fruit, either solid or in a smoothie. I would eat a handful of nuts, a piece of cheese, and grab an orange, which is the fruit I crave the most. But one day, I just got a fresh fruit cup with grapes, cantaloupe, and honeydew, and another time I had a small green smoothie from Jamba Juice. At night I eat the usual way… grass-fed beef, organic chicken, or salmon, and either a salad or lightly steamed broccoli, carrots, or a small piece of boiled sweet potato. My weight seems to have stalled. I will lose a few pounds and then gain one. I’m pretty consistent with exercise; not on a daily basis but at least 4-5 times a week. I have no idea why this is happening. Is it normal? I’m craving food all the time, and my appetite is not all there…
Alyson says
Hey Lilly, overeating fruit can lead to weight gain, since it has a lot of sugar. View fruit as nature’s candy, and it’s best to see it as a treat instead of something to fill up on. One orange has about 12 grams of sugar, 1 cup of grapes has 15 grams of sugar, and a small green smoothie from Jamba Juice has between 46 and 66 grams of sugar (or between 11.5 and 16.5 teaspoons of pure sugar). Their large green smoothies have as much as 90 grams of sugar… that’s about a half cup of sugar!
So that can definitely lead to weight gain, cravings, and blood sugar spikes and crashes.
If you can avoid all sugar for a week or so, those cravings should diminish and soon disappear.
When craving hit hard, remind yourself that it’ll only stick around for a few days and try these things for immediately relief… Ask yourself:
– Am I thirsty? Drink a huge glass of purified water and the cravings may subside.
– Have I had my fill of greens and fiber today? Go for a salad, veggies, or a homemade green smoothie (http://bit.ly/grnsmooth). High quality protein and a bit of healthy fat is also good for helping you feel satiated.
– Am I emotional or bored? Wait twenty minutes, go for a walk, or exercise.
– Still craving sugar? Drink a seltzer with a slice of lemon, or a warm mug of herbal tea. That always cuts the cravings for me.
You also may want to try supplementing with Vitamin C — your body may be craving vitamin C. Here’s a great interview with to on the importance of vitamin C: http://fatburningman.com/dr-andrew-saul-the-megavitamin-man-high-dose-vitamin-c-diy-health/
An added bonus is that vitamin c helps with food cravings. Here’s the brand we take daily (it’s derived from non-gmo corn): http://bit.ly/BronsonsVitC
I hope that helps!

I have no idea what site thus is going to. My husband & I just started this. We are at 9 days. It is going well. I do not care for dark meat & I despise anything out of the water. (Fish, nori, lobster all :() Is it ok to use chicken breast in place of?
Thank you
Abel James says
Sure, chicken is a good option for protein as well – go for pasture-raised if you can. 🙂
Rachel says
Love the wild diet because it teaches you to love food like our ancestors did. Abel and his team provide great support too!
J Wayne Scherffius says
Real food. What can be better than real, unprocessed food – the way my grandparents used to grow it and raise it during the depression way back in the 1930s. I am so excited to get started on this program. Last week I shed the sugar. This week I will be adding my favorite greens and grass fed/pasture raised/wild caught meat, chicken and fish. I can’t wait to post my before and after pictures and share them with the tribe.
Jennifer Summers says
My daughter and I have been loving, eating this way. We got introduced to so many different types of food we had never tried before and so many good recipes that we love that don’t have to include sugar. My last visit to the doctor, all my blood work came back well within normal range, all that is left is to just lose the weight now. I have also really enjoyed the grass fed meats over regular store bought stuff, so much more flavor to the meat that I wasn’t used to experiencing.
Genell says
Just started the wild diet and I can’t wait to see results like this! I’m loving the 7 minute wild workout.
Kelly Machado says
The wild diet has been completely life changing for me! This is not a diet, this is a lifestyle with such an awesome support system….and bacon!!
Abel James says
Bacon for the win!
Carla says
I love the wild diet because of the simplicity. I’ve been Paleo and Primal for years but the Wild plan is simple and its easier to see results.
Abel James says
Thanks for that, Carla!
Eric says
My family, yes even my kids, LOVE The Wild Diet because the food is so good! We make it a point to do the meal prep together and they take pride in knowing they made our meals, plus we have a great time while doing it.
Tiffany Phillips says
I love the wild diet – it’s so easy and has helped to bring down my fasting blood sugar. 🙂
Rikie Herzberger says
I’ve never felt so satisfied and so energetic as with the Wild Diet!
Abel James says
That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Sophia says
I love the Wild Diet! So many great recipes I’ve tried. I’ve opted to make the recipes without telling my family (husband and kids ages 10, 8 & 6) that they are from a cookbook, nonetheless a diet cookbook that is supposed to be “healthy” for you, and they all LOVE the new recipes! I definitely love taking the step to interact with the Tribe, so going on this journey of real food finding has been that much more interesting! Thank you so much!
Abel James says
So glad your family loves it, Sophia!
Kim Potts says
I have been on The Wild Diet since January and have lost 20 lbs! I got married on April 30th and I felt beautiful and confident! I am so grateful and love the health benefits of being Wild and am not stopping now!! 🙂
Abel James says
Congratulations, Kim! You must be on top of the world 🙂
Nara says
The meal plans are full of fantastically delicious recipes. I agree with everyone else – family members are unsuspecting. 😉 I love the shopping lists and attention to detail – especially being told what to thaw, prep the night before, etc. I’m also enjoying the Tribe resource library! So many great videos and links. Thanks Abel & Alyson!
Abel James says
Thanks for being part of the Tribe, Nara!
Danielle Thompson says
My husband and I are getting ready to start the 30 day fat loss program and we’ve download the meal plan but if it’s just us 2 eating the meals should we cut the recipes in half?
Thanks!
Alyson says
That’s great, Danielle! For servings, it really depends. The meals are meant to feed 2 – 4 people. You can try the first week and see how much you eat. If it’s too much, most dishes make great leftovers the next day, or freeze extras for later. If you find there’s more food than you’d eat, then halving the recipes should work well.
Romina says
Hi guys! I would like to know your thoughts on intermittent fasting 16-18 hours (always having fatty coffee) in the morning, while trying to conceive?
Chantal Davies says
Hi Guys
I am from Cape Town, South Africa…..I love, love your plan and after reading it I want it. But how can I get it as I don’t live in the USA…..I am a diabetic and for the past 7 years I’ve been struggling to get rid of my belly fat and all the excess weight. I am nor sure if the price on your website is still the same and if I will actually receive the plan…. Could you please assist me…

Hello,
My husband and I are looking to start the Wild Diet, after it was suggested to us by a friend of mine who has had trouble losing weight herself. We originally started off on something called the Whole30, but kind of fell off the wagon after a while and started binging on things because we completely restricted ourselves for 4 months while losing weight for our wedding ceremony. I’m hoping, as is my husband, that this is something that we can sustain long term without falling off and binging. My husband and I both have back and hip problems from being in the military, and I was wondering if there are any suggestions as far as working out with injuries like this? We can’t run, jump, etc. Especially my husband. Thank you in advance!
